Who we are. RMU (Resilient Minds United) is a method for prevention in adolescent mental health created by Pía Maestri, which operates through the platform rmuprevention.org. Data controller: Pía Maestri, Lijo López 4985, (7600) Mar del Plata, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Contact: contacto@rmuprevention.org.
Our principle. We collect the minimum necessary for the school to be able to listen to its students and support them. The data is used to care, never to punish, label or control.
1. Student questionnaires
- They are anonymous. We do not ask for a name, email, ID number or any information that identifies the person answering. Students do not have an account.
- We store the answers to each questionnaire, question by question and without any information that identifies the person who answered, together with the school, the class and the date. Those individual answers are never shown: the reading receives only summaries by group, expressed in words. The questionnaire has no free-text fields.
- Results are always shown as summaries by class, and only when at least 5 students answer. The reading never shows how many students marked each topic: it uses words (some, several, many).
- Taking part is voluntary. Before giving the questionnaires, the school informs all families what RMU is, what is asked and that it is anonymous. If a family does not want their child to take part, that is respected. Even if the family does not object, each student decides whether to answer and can stop at any time.
2. Teacher questionnaires
- They are also anonymous. To link the two parts of their questionnaire, the teacher's browser generates and remembers an anonymous code (for example, "RMU-D-123456"), which is not associated with their name, their email or any account.
- The part "Caring for those who care" ("Cuidar a quienes cuidan") is shown only at school level and with at least 5 answers.
3. School team accounts
- We store the email and the password (protected; no one can see it), the school each person belongs to, each person's acceptance of the Terms and the Privacy Policy (which version and when) and the acceptance of the agreement (who accepted, when and which version). These acceptances are kept as a record, even if the account is later deleted.
- When someone on the team marks a task of the cycle (for example, that the school has already informed families), we store who marked it and when, as a record. That record is kept even if the account is later deleted.
4. Resource map
- The school enters the contacts of its team and of the services in its area. Only that school's team and RMU can see it.
- Exception: the names of the counseling team or of the designated teachers are shown to students at the end of the questionnaire, so they know who to turn to. The school knows this when it enters them. Phone numbers and emails are never shown.
4 bis. School requests
- When a person completes "Add my school" ("Sumar mi escuela"), we store the name of the school, the city, the country, their name, their email, their role and their message. Only the RMU team sees it, and it is used solely to reply and, where appropriate, to register the school.
- Discarded requests are deleted after 12 months.
4 ter. RMU Families and Raíces
- They are used without an account. We do not ask for a name, email or any information that identifies the person who enters.
- Families questionnaires. The answers are not stored: the reading is calculated on the spot and is lost when the page is closed or reloaded.
- Raíces. What you write is stored only in the browser on your device. RMU does not receive it, cannot read it and cannot recover it if you lose it. From "What I wrote" you can download it, delete it or choose not to have it saved.
- My saved items. The list of resources you save stays only in the browser on your device. You can delete it from "My saved items" ("Mis guardados").
- Anyone who uses the same device can see what you wrote and your list. If you clear the browser's data, they are lost.
- Raíces does not reply to or assess what you write, and no one reads it. It is not a channel for asking for help: "Crisis help" is there for that.
5. Who has access to the data
- Each school's team sees only what belongs to its school.
- The RMU team sees the same summaries, never individual answers.
- We do not sell, rent or share data with third parties for commercial purposes. There is no advertising. With each school's authorization, which is set out in the agreement, RMU may use anonymous and aggregated results (never individual answers, and without naming the school unless the school authorizes it) to improve the method, to do research and to make its work known.
6. Where it is stored
- On servers of specialized technical providers: Supabase (database) and Vercel (web hosting), with restricted access and encrypted connections. These servers may be outside the school's country.
- For security reasons, these providers may log technical data, such as the IP address. RMU does not associate it with the questionnaire answers.
7. For how long
- Answers are kept until the end of the following school year and are then deleted.
- Team accounts are deleted when the school stops using RMU, or earlier if someone asks.
- What you save on your device in RMU Families and Raíces stays there until you delete it.
8. Cookies. We use only the cookies needed to keep the session open for those who have an account. We do not use advertising cookies or statistics or tracking tools. The questionnaires do not use cookies: they store in the browser only what is needed to work (the anonymous teacher code, whether a part has already been answered and the country chosen in Crisis help). RMU Families and Raíces do not use cookies either: they store in the browser only what you decide to save (what you write in Raíces, your list of saved items and whether you chose for Raíces not to save).
9. Your rights. Anyone with an account can ask to access their data, correct it or delete it, by writing to contacto@rmuprevention.org. Because the questionnaire answers are anonymous, it is not possible to identify or hand over the answers of a particular person. What you write in Raíces and your list of saved items are only on your device: RMU does not have them, so it cannot hand them over or delete them. You delete them yourself, from the app.
In Argentina: the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública (Agency for Access to Public Information), as the supervisory body for Law 25.326 on the Protection of Personal Data, handles complaints and claims for non-compliance with that law.
10. Changes. If this policy changes, we will announce it on this page and inform schools by email.
